latency Problem

Hi Guys

I have a problem with latency on my PC

On my network I have A wireless router it has wi-fi ethernet etc
Connected to it is:
A PC Wired straight to the modem
A Ps3 Wired straight to the modem
Two laptops connects via wi-fi

The problem is that if I do a speedtest (soeedtest.net)on the pc I get a latency of 1000-1058 nothing less.
But on the laptops and the ps3 I get a latency of between 40-80

There must be somthing wong with the pc as it constantly gets that latency of 1000 and up


Anybody got ant ideas or how to resolve this issue

try switch the ps3 and pc port around and see if it changes...
try another cable...

false reading? can u feel the latency?

I found that it was my anti virus effecting my latency on speedtest.net, with my anti virus on i would get 800-1000ms with it off i would get around 40 -50ms, however my latency was fine on all online games sc2 and wow. It seems it just affected speedtest.net.

I use Trend Micro anti virus
