Hey peeps.

I have an old lappy which runs XP Pro, the poor thing has 512mb ram, and 1.8ghz processor.

I am using it for a file server at home.

Can anyone please suggest an antivirus for that machine? Performance is the MOST important thing here :)

I use ESET Nod 32 Home Edition. It does not slow down my machine noticeably.

Ditch windows and do something like Puppy Linux.

Light weight and easier on the low amount of RAM you have.

You also then won't need to waste resources (on which you have scarce few) on an AV client.
