Lawyer's fees

I am in the process of purchasing a property in the name of a family trust. I spoke to a lawyer yesterday who quoted me R21000 to do the transfer (excluding the transfer fee payable to SARS). The property is being sold for R600 000.

My question is how much of that quoted price is cast in stone (stamp fees and such) and how much is at the discretion of the lawyer? Is there room to negotiate on this price / shop around for a better price?

There is no date on the article, but hopefully it helps you out, sorry I am not a conveyancer, but generally their fees are guided by a tariff, so you should find that the fees are generally much of a muchness
