Lay off ISIS or else, SA imams warned

I made a grammatical error. Damn autocorrect. I've edited it above.

As I said, I thought you were concentrating on the fact that they received threats rather that the fact that they are speaking out. But, again, if I misinterpreted, apologies

aaaah
a quote involving rusty0, the resident village idi0t.
you really should ignore anything where his name appears.
as you can see, it is fond of making false sweeping statements like
I know the muslim community, there is no ISIS links in SA, just like there are no Al Queda links,

but also tread lightly with him, otherwise while standing in front of you, he'll have you fired on the spot with just one call - cos he "knows" people.

there is usually a deafening silence, and the entire world would love to see religious leaders reigning in the nutjobs they have produced.

when those leaders speak out against the insanity of some of their flock, that voice should be heard - which is precisely why i created a thread for this article instead of just leaving it buried in the body of a different discussion.
I'm not so sure.

This article only made the news because anonymous people started threatening the imams for saying what they said. So where are the reports of the denouncements that the imams made that drew ISIS' ire in the first place? How many other denouncements go said but unreported?

I argue there is no deafening silence. The "silence" is simply the result of people being too lazy to go out and ask real live imams what they think and what they preach to their flock. But you see, that would mean going out of your way to interact with The Other, and that's clearly a no-no.

Well done to the clerics who are standing up against IS.

Brave men knowing what these ISIS types are capable of.
