Hey guys
I am looking at buying a new 22" LCD. I currently have a BenQ FP93GX (2ms) 19" LCD. I now want to "upgrade" to a 22"

From what I've been reading on the web, the Samsung 2253GW (2ms) looks really nice.

I thus need some advice on what to buy. I want a 2ms 22" LCD, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be highly appreciated.
I'm working on a budget of R2000 - R2500.

(Another thing, will my Asus 9800GT be able to cope with the 22" at native resolution? )

Thanks in advance!

Regards

The 2233GW is the newer model. Much better spec'd too.
They around R2500 but most people are out of stock.

If you're in durbs, PCZone has the 2233BW (matt version) for R1899 & the T220 for R2299

So you guys recon the 2233GW is a better buy than the (newer) 2253GW ?
*edit* All the suppliers told me that the 2233GW have a 5ms response, although on the web it states it has a 2ms response?

Got a 2253GW... Awesome screen, more square than the 2233GW (I prefer it actually it fits better with my case)

They basically the same... 2233 just has a better dynamic contrast... Which is not really that big a deal ;)

Okay, so the guys at Samsung say that the 2233GW is actually a 5ms LCD and not a 2ms LCD. They say that it is a fault on their (and apparently on everybody else's ) website....

What Samsung monitor is there then that has 2ms reponse, because I don't know what to believe now anymore...

THanks!

You should be able to get the 2253 in your price range. The 2333 is a 16:9 monitor. Not 16:10.

I'm talking about the 2233GW not the 2333. And as far as the specs on everybody's website the 2233GW has a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Oh okay... SOrry :) Well, apparently the 2233GW has a 2ms (GTG) and a 5ms (BTB - Black to Black) response, and that is what confused some people...

I still think it is nice monitor, from what I've heard...

It's generally accepted that the difference between 2ms and 5ms will be unnoticeable.

It depends on what you will be using your monitor for which will depend on what you want out of it.

Slow ms value offers a better display for colours which is probably more suited for those in that kind of industry. Gaming and videos ect it is better to get lower ms response rate but your colour accuracy takes a slight knock.

Okay, so the 2233GW has been discontinued as from today. I'm now looking at buying the 2253GW which has a 10000:1 contrast ratio where the 2233GW has a 20000:1 contrast ratio.
Is that diff. going to be noitceable on the naked eye, or is that not such a big thing?

Thanks for all the advice guys!

Those are just dynamic contrast ratios. Ignore them. I disable dynamic contrast anyway.
