Hi all,

I used to have a 17" crt at work fitted with one of those chuncky anti glare filters. I used to work the entire day on the PC and my eyes were fine.

We recently upgraded to samsung LCD's - 19" wide. I understand that the new LCD have a build in anti reflective filter however my eyes are really taking a strain and the glare is so much more than my CRT fitted with the anti glare screen.

Any idea on where I can get an anti glare screen for my LCD. They are selling these products overseas but im looking for local guy's...

Help!

Thanks,

THEgit

I am not sure you need them hey, far as i know it is only crt's that need them but i may be mistaken.

I fitted my CRT filter on the LCD and it made a huge difference!

were can you get crt filters? I need one! buy then end of they days my eyes are watering

DUDE! u are right! im so desperate that im using my polarised sunglasses at work!

First calibrate you LCD and then make sure you don't have something like a flickering flourecent tube reflecting off it.

I have zero eye strain with my LCD which was not the case with my CRT.

Thats the first thing i did. I set the LCD to text mode!

Try turning down the brightness or fiddling with the contrast.

lowering the contrast will solve your prob. afaik lcd screens are way too bright on their defaul out of the box settings. adjust them as you wish

...or just install one of the Linux distro's - seems to solve everyone's software, hardware and whatever problems they might have.
Seriously tho - haven't heard of glare issues on LCD screens before, but being Samsung  anything is possible...

Here is a software solution for you!

Ever notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow?

Or wake up ready to write down the Next Great Idea, and get blinded by your computer screen?

During the day, computer screens look good—they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.

F.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.

It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better.

This utility is great if you find yourself getting headaches at night from a bright screen! Software can be customised for daytime viewing as well!

Thanks guy's. Im gonna check up on the 3M screen filters...

ciao
