I have a Bravia. Over the weekend i was watching tv and noticed that the top and the bottom of the picture is slightly cut off. It never used to be. I thought it was just the DSTV feed - but its still like that today.

My settings are on Wide Mode: Wide Zoom.

Its always been on that and i never had that problem. Starting to irritate me cos watching the news you cannot even see the scroll bar at the bottom.

Anybody know how to fix this problem? Tried reading the manuel but it didnt help.

Any help will be appreciated.

Switch off wide zoom.

Wide Zoom has always been on.

The other options are

Zoom
Full
Wide Zoom
Normal

The other ones are worst than the Wide zoom.

Im sure its just a setting im missing, cos it never used to be like that. Was watching some tv earlier and half of the head of the presenter was cut off.

Starting to erk me.:(

Have you checked your DSTV aspect ratio settings? Ours did this on my Samsung LCD after the last DSD upgrade - I had to reset the decoder aspect ratio to 16:9 instead of 4:3 and it was fine on wide zoom and normal. I hate when DSTV does this and messes with the settings...

Alternatively, try a factory reset on the LCD and re-do your settings.

That might just work. Never thought about that. Its not like i adjusted the settings on my panel. It just happened.

I have tried a factory reset on the LCD and had no luck with it.

How do you set the decoder's aspect ratio?

From what I remember, it's in the Menu -> Advanced Options under TV Installation (or similar for TV1) - when asked for the 4-digit code, punch in 9949 and you should be given the different options - Select TV Installation for TV1 (or similar). Select Aspect Ratio and change. If wrong, I'll check when I get home later and let you know.

Which decoder model do you have?

Use the "Full" setting...

The full setting gives the same problem if not worse. It cuts out almost the entire Supersport ''S'' Logo in the corner.

Use Full.
Also check the picture settings, you might have auto wide zoom on.

Others are worse? I flipped through them all, and Normal/Full on ours is the best picture (think its full, know its def not Zoom). We have a 40" FullHD Sony.

No problems Cantera - glad to help. DSTV gives me the willies when it comes to their fiddling with the settings without you knowing about it - I've learnt over the years that if there is a problem, check the decoder first, because they're always upgrading and resetting everything to the defaults! ;)

Cheers!
