Hello there!

I have a new Dell 23" LCD Monitor- I see there is 2 USB ports on the side of the screen.

Does anybody know what this is for?

thanks,

Hugo

USB devices? There should be a USB "up" port as well, connecting to a port on the PC. The monitor then acts as a USB hub.

TJ99,

Yes, i understand it is for USB devices, but i have tried my memory stick in there but nothing happened.
I will check for the "up" port-that makes sense.

Thanks,

It's normally a "Type B" USB connector, like the one printers use. The same type of cable then connects to a normal "Type A" USB port on the PC.

Probably isn't connected to the PC.

If it is a dell U2311, there is a type b connector at the back, as well as a cable in the box. Take the cable out of the box, plug one end into your pc, and the other into the type b connector at the back of the monitor, next to the DVI connector, IIRC. Then the usb ports on the side of the monitor should work.

BTW, that is a very nice monitor, albeit a bit slow...
