LCD TV Calibration

What can you use out there to calibrate an LCD properly? I've seen some DVDs selling on the net but is there something else good and free?

I have two Pixar dvd's (Monsters Inc and The Incredibles) that include the THX screen and sound calibration tests. Not the best, but it was free on both dvd's.

Connect a pc to the LCD and use the calibration facility built into the display drivers or try find some other utility.
