LCD Users only: do you have Clear Type enabled or not?

Im running Windows Vista Ultimate and ClearType was not running as default.
After I enabled it, there is a small difference in that the text is slightly darker and more defined.

I have an ASUS 22" LCD (VW222U)

BenQ FP92W - ClearType Enabled

Just looks better :)

cleartype is shocking.. just makes words bolder and uglier... i find things alot better with it off.

With you on that one. I am kind of being forced into using IE7 at university. IE7 has ClearType enabled. I HATE IT! (oops, caps lock got stuck there for a moment) One or two things looks nicer with it turned on, but the text and the rest of it looks...Overdone. No thank you.

Cleartype enabled was for older LCD's that run at a 12 ms or higher response time as their fonts sometimes looked real bad especially when black on gray.
Laptops normally suffer quite bad with this effect.
If your monitor is an 8 ms or better its probably best to leave it disabled as it looks more normal that way.
IE7 like some Firefox Themes sometimes look better with it on as they use a slightly smaller font and it tends to look a bit 'grainy' and is probably reason why Vista defaults it on.
