Hi all wise heads.

I have a Proline MON 19LCD screen here.

The image is split in the middle from top to bottom. It is almost like a book. A 2- 3mm black line from top to bottom with perfect display each side..

I spoke to Pinnacle technicians and they said some electronic component packed up. There was also an "OSD locked" error message. They said this was part of the failed electronic problem and the message pops up when these electronic parts failed.

I did a bit of Googeling with not much success.

I cleared the OS locked error, which led me to wonder if the technicians were right?

I have tried the screen on different pc's, with the same result. In the menu I did a basic reset. Pressed the button in combination's for up to 10 seconds.

I'm running the screen on analogue. Haven't been able to test on DVI connection.

The screen do not display this line when the screen saver is running? I mean a moving screen saver. The display is normal.

Screen is out of warranty. Do not want to spend money on it, but would like to use it.

Thx
:)

edit: I have now noticed that the split is not so perfect. The line actually covers the display, in other words, if I move my mouse over the black line, it seems that the mouse is moving beneath the black line. So it covers text or any other display, accept the screen saver.

it also boots from the start with this black line. I thought it appeared as the desktop was entered, but it is just difficult to pick up in the beginning due to black / dark background.

Same in dos mode and safe mode.

Does the screen have its own screensaver? It simply receives data from the PC, it doesn't know whether it is a screensaver, or a movie etc.
If it does have its own screensaver, then it must have something to do with displaying the input on the screen, i.e. the panel is fine but there is something wrong between it and the input/VGA plug.

Try the HDMI.

Not the screens own screen saver. It is the windows screen saver, like the flying windows, etc. That is why I have hope that it is a setting somewhere on the screen.

Om the screen's own screen saver the line is visible
