What was canon's response when you contacted them about it?Let me rephrase my position on it. I consider the Auto ISO limitation a bug. A mistake. They should fix it.

Like I said before. Different strokes for different folks. I *want* a working Auto ISO in creative modes, and there is no excuse for Canon's pathetic implementation. It's something they can easily fix with a firmware update, and they should.

I see on the 50d, auto iso is between 100 and 1600, so maybe Bwana's suggestion may suit you??They wont. If it's that important you might consider an upgrade to the 50D - that's what Canon wants you to do.
Full Auto mode (green rectangle mode) FTW.I see on the 50d, auto iso is between 100 and 1600, so maybe Bwana's suggestion may suit you??
Check sensitivity ([edit]althought they don't say whether it's creative or doofus modes[/edit])

I have a vague recollection that the 1dM3 allows you to set the limits. Maybe they were trying to keep some of the nice stuff for the top end cams onlyI still think giving the user the option to define the lower and upper limits of the range is the best idea.

No, I cancelled that order. I went for the D90.
iirc he was going to - perhaps the added expense of the D90 over the D40 meant forgoing the lens for now?I guess I misunderstood - I thought you ordered the 24-105L for your film bodies.
That is certainly very usable! Did you do any noise reduction in post (I agree the in-camera NR is lousy)?
Do you have a different persona for each different camera or is it just one for film and one for digital?no
lowlight works great on the D90
here is a shot I took of 56kMan:

fool still uses that EOS3
and don't get him started on raw - dude thinks jpeg holds as much colour info![]()
NR is off. I don't like it, it's ugly and blotchy.![]()
