Still waiting for a response. They did get back to me about something else, but not yet about the camera.

Unfortunately, that's not a bug, and Canon only fix bugs with firmware updates.

I see on the 50d, auto iso is between 100 and 1600, so maybe Bwana's suggestion may suit you??

Check sensitivity ([edit]althought they don't say whether it's creative or doofus modes[/edit])

I read, before it came out, that they've increased the range from 400-800 to 400-1600, which is better but still not what I want. It seems that was slightly wrong. Page 64 of the manual, for greenbox, landscape, macro, sport, night portrait, flash off, CA, P, Tv, Av, and A-DEP, it's 100-1600. For portrait it's fixed at 100, for M it's fixed at 400, except when the flash is deployed, when it can go down to 100.

So that's a lot better. But notice they s till don't give you the full range. 3200 is now native - why exclude it?

I still think giving the user the option to define the lower and upper limits of the range is the best idea.

I have a vague recollection that the 1dM3 allows you to set the limits. Maybe they were trying to keep some of the nice stuff for the top end cams only :confused:

iirc he was going to - perhaps the added expense of the D90 over the D40 meant forgoing the lens for now?

Do you have a different persona for each different camera or is it just one for film and one for digital? :o :eek::eek:
