League of Legends PING Problems

Hi there guys,

I have a 10mbps line Capped with WebAfrica.

Last night I was playing League of legends and while loading, the game showed I was at 199 ping for the international European West Server (which is fine, and still very playable) - but as soon as the game started, it fluctuated anywhere from 400-750 and wasn't stable even for a minute. This is very frustrating and most unplayable.

2 Questions:

1. Is there a way to fix this?

2. Are there any ISPs that offer better PING? (I am open-minded to a switch)

I played about 5 games last night and had no issues on webafrica. My highest ping was 193 and as low as 183. At the same time I also had 2 eve online clients open, so I don't know if it was a WA issue.

Only thing I can suggest is get a cheap account from another ISP and when u have issues, switch and see if the issues continue.

What do you think causes these ping spikes I've been having?

In my experience this could indicate exchange congestion, but I'm sure you would've noticed it before if it was (and if it happens again at the same time of night, it may indicate an issue)

I also had no lag issues/spikes with LoL last night btw.

Lag spikes can be caused by a few factors. Hard disk could have been busy. Your windows (or other programs) could have decided that it's time for an update and downloaded. If you have wifi and your phone is connected to it (and an Android especially) it will automatically download updates for you whilst on wifi. Friend/Family on your wifi could have contributed to the issue. CPU could have had a spaz moment as well, etc etc etc etc

If you can rule out your PC entirely, wifi entirely (no devices etc) and notice it happens again tonight, my money is on exchange congestion
