Leaking geyser

Hey.
My geyser started leaking yesterday.
I'll get a plumber to come have a look tomorrow. I'm just curious as to what could have caused it. Can it be repaired or do I need to replace the whole geyser?

In the photo, it's leaking where the element (?) goes into the geyser

Hi it could be due to heating up and cooling of the geyser or it could also be due to a fault in one of the pressure relief valves. You said that you will get a plumber in they will confirm on the fault and repair if is just the element seal cheap repair but labour to drain the geyser.to replace seal and check the pressure valves.
