Leased Line Service Providers

Good day
I'm in the market for a leased line solution and I would really appreciate it if I can get some feedback from forum users as to which ISP to use.
Reliability is extremely important and obviously I do not want to be taken for a ride when it comes to costing. The line size will be 384Local and 256 must be portioned for international bandwidth. A one to one service.
Telkom, Internet Solutions, UUNet(Verizon), Datapro ,Storm etc ..which one?

Don't be surprised if this cost you around R25,000 per month for a 1:1 contention international 256K connection with SLA agreement.

Don't bother with anybody else than the three top-tier ISPs in South Africa: Telkom, Verizon and IS. My advice is to get a quote from Telkom and Verizon. Just don't sign any 5 year contracts with Telkom.

Also wait for the decrease of up to 39% in the rates for IPLC’s coming August 2006.

1yr with Telkom (as sad as it is), is still much cheaper than anyone else. When you go to another ISP, you pay the ISP for bandwidth, and Telkom for the rental of the copper.

Going to Telkom (SAIX), they give you the copper for free, and you only pay for the bandwidth. This can be a massive saving on high speed lines... Completely wrong and anti-competive... But atleast it means "cheaper" diginet access... It's almost affordable for what you get actually.

Speak to Sentech as well about their BizNet Express products.
Its a leased line quality product with SLA's and everything - only difference is its fixed wireless. Also Sentech are the only people (besides Telkom) with an international gateway licence... so they are actually able to compete with Telscum with a completely independant product and not just various resold and wholesale Telkom products duct-taped together as is unfortunately the case with the IS, Verizon, etc products at the moment.
When i last spoke to Sentech they were in a position to better any price you could get from Telkom - supposedly...
