Okay, here's the deal. I'm a contractor and for the last year or so, I was offered to renew my contract. I now have the benefits of paid leave etc... but here's the problem. I only get a day of leave for about a month of working, because I get paid per hour and I can only take that leave once I work it in. I'm pretty sure this isn't right? Shouldn't I be getting more paid leave? What's the month average? 1.5 days per month? I couldn't scrutinise the contract when I was brought in to sign it, because I had to sign it immediately when they brought it in and since I was out of work for a long time, I obviously couldn't turn down the job just because the leave sucks. What can I do?

1.25 for every completed cycle of 45 hours x4

Eish, could be 40 hours x 4 not sure. I think it veries from company to company. And just to note, that is the lowest allocated leave amount.

15 days per year.

Thanks. I'm getting such a little leave. Everyone else is taking so much leave and I just take off one day here and there :(

I did read your opening post, and the same still applies, you are not protected by some mystical labour law because you are a professional.
Next time, do not let them pressure you into signing immediately, negotiate it.

Fair enough, thanks.

Push for 1.5 per month, that will give you 20 a year.

I'm getting 1.25 and that gives you 15, I know that if you have been with our company for longer than 5 years you get 1.5 a month.
