The 11 of My is my last day at my current job. I worked on a number of awesome project whilst here. There is one project that made it all worthwile. I spent 6 months on site, got to meet awesome people, learnt a bunch of new things and delivered it after 10 months.

It was a massive solo project. I sort of got attached it, (yes I know that is crazy) and as I leave, I am in the process of doing the final documentaion for another agency that will be taking over as my current employer does not have the
resources to handle a MVC project and disagrees with the client on various things.

I am feeling a bit sad  right now and the music I am playing does not help. </end emo rant>

Some projects I didn't want to leave, others I cannot wait to get rid of ..

I have had those nasty projects too. The client is in Television broadcasting and this project took me out of my zone (retail/banks) and immersed me deep into video on demand and DRM. I had to build the back-end, front-end, communicate with lots of third parties.

When I did my final year project at Wits my team also had an interesting project and as the sole developer I threw myself into it and felt almost like this after the project demo day. But I still learned a truckload!

Heck my son turned one yesterday, got a month off to travel, launch a web app and then move to beautiful Cape Town!!

I had one like that, back when ARMGold & Harmony were separate companies (pre - merger). I had spent 12 months work-shopping and implementing an HR / IR system which was integrated with the Payroll system. Then the two companies merged and the whole project was canned..... R1.6mil to waste and a year of my life :(
