Just bought a new place and want to put in downlights and I would like to go LED, cost permitting ofcourse, what's the best wattage and brands to go for? Also any thumbsucks as to how much it would cost to install? It's a 3 bedroom place, big(ish) lounge, dining room and kitchen, 2 bathrooms and hallway.

Thanks

With an electrician and LED globes maybe R500/ea. 4 per room or so? So around 20k?

Thanks, do any manufacturers guarantee their lifespan? Lot of money for a bulb.

1. why do you need an electrician to change your lights from what you have to LED's?
Its as simple as replacing a globe, be it screw in, bayonet, MR16 12V or GU10 220V.

2. yes you can get LED downlights from R75, but you dont want them.
even if you get them for free you will not use them for long.
Why? They dont give you the same LUX levels as more expensive LED's.

3. ever heard of a warranty on any lightbulb, let alone a LED?
Never! Imagine you buy a globe at the hardware shop, 6 months later it stops working
and you want to exchange it. They will kindly ask you to leave the premises.

Go to the website in my signature, you get ONE year warranties on most of the lights!!!!
