LED Notification

I'm having a chat with a guy at work ... he says the LED notification is the stupid idea he's come across. He prefers the screen lighting up with the message instead of an LED.

a) He's got an S4 - is there an app or something that will turn his phone on from standby and how the message?
b) I love my LED notification ... think it was really stupid of Apple to leave it off their devices. Do you guys use them?

apple can do it... whatsapp notifications makes the flash on camera go off (super bright)

whether they want to is differnet story. also phone vibrates or makes sound of get an notification. so to me that's fine.

So he wants to waste battery? Whatsapp does show on the screen though if you select it in the settings
