LED photo/video lights

I've actually seen these in action from the Micro to the big ones.
This one's good for an SLR still camera and runs off AA batteries:

I got the MicroPro, although I've seen the big Spots demo'ed - and those are modular, so you can combine 4 and even 8 of 'em. They are light, run cool,
and run off regular AAs which is nice if you don't have time to charge anything or don't have anything - you can just buy ordinary AA batteries. Much better than a tungsten bulb running off the mains.

yeah, I'm with you - this is a really nice product. I'm just more partial to getting away with available light as far as I possibly can. I might get the Micro though, just to play around with it.

I dont see the advantage of this to a photographer over a flash. I suppose maybe as a keylight but sitting it on top of my camera?
