hey guys, helping my folks set up a tv in their kitchen, which will be fed the dstv stream from their lounge (about 15 meters away).

The guy whose building the house pulled a cable so they can use one of those coax cables to watch whatever is playing in the lounge in the kitchen tv...

They want to hang up speakers in the kitchen (little small speakers) which receive audio from the kitchen TV.
Does anyone have any models and/or suggestions to do this?

oh, and.... they specifically stated they don't want bigger than a 32" TV in the kitchen

Surely it's better to run an hdmi cable instead of coax and worst case av cables. Coax really doesn't look too great on an led/LCD methinks. The distance should not be a factor for those cable types. If you are going coax then all the tv needs is an aerial input and for sound a headphones jack or left/right audio out if the speakers will be amplified.

yeah, cable has already been placed. So thats the problem. I don't think they really care about the 720p/1080i portion.
Coax will do just fine...

Just wondering if anyone knew of any TV's with the audio out jacks and what speakers

Why not just use the speakers in the TV? You'll have to get an amp etc to run any speakers of the audio out

i've run speakers out of my TV at home without an amp.. crappy set up, but was just to save myself from destroying the quality of the tv speakers... it's a UA46D model, so that was a 2/3 years ago if not mistaken... but was wondering if that output still applies to current models

So you're saving the ''quality'' of the TV speakers which you're never going to use while using crap ''quality'' external speakers. Makes sense...

hehe, they don't really care about quality of picture or sound. I just want the TV in good condition after they've used it for a year or 2.... I'm claiming it ;-) Hence suggestion of no use out of TV speakers
