Left 4 Dead Game Mode...?

Ok so im not gonna rant and rave- ok just a bit- sometime, well alot recently, the IS versus servers just stop responding and seem to "crash". then we have to restart our match. Is there any console commands taht will switch SAIX or vodacom servers over to another game mode? only IS seem to host versus servers and most of the time they are full...

Or do i just have to hop and pray saix will run at least 1 versus server?...

You can, but you need to do it via a Lobby, and you need to the know the IPort of an open IS/SAIX server.

Create a versus/survival lobby, set it to choose Best Available Dedicated server, open the console (~) type in ms_force_dedicated_server "server_ip:server_port", then Start Game, give it some time, it can take a while.

This is how I do it, maybe someone has found a better way.

And I agree, the server crashes on map change are becoming incredibly tiresome.

I use HLSW to check if any games are in progress, and if any spots are open.
