Like the topic states, I have a very weird problem, where my Left Shift + Y key does not work.

I've got a Dell Inspiron 9400 and I'm running Windows 7 x64 with US keyboard layout.

For some reason pressing and holding in both left & right shift keys fixed this, but it only temporarily fixed it.
I have no idea what is causing this...

I have the same issue with right shift + P on my toshiba....
It never picks up but if I just press p it always works.. gotto hit shift+P like 3 times then it "warms up" and registers the key..
And I've never spilt anything on my keyboard either..

It's definitely a software issue and not a keyboard failure issue.

I mean, left shift + any other key than Y works 100% AND right shift + Y works 100% too.
I can also get a Y character by pressing the shift + Y key a couple of times, but it's faster to just make the effort and use the right shift key instead :(

I've looked through all the usual hotkey / sticky key stuff and can't find anything related.
Luckily I rarely use the laptop's keyboard, since I mostly use an external keyboard, mouse & screen.
