I can't unfortunately, not just yet anyways. They have to have been convicted/charged, right? Otherwise it's defamation. They'd sue

That's just it. He hasn't professed ignorance to the situation and says he's trying to get the money or the car back from his partner. He's put it in writing. A piece of paper is hardly worth R30k though

You never said they committed fraud, you just exposed that they have bad service because they make their problems yours.

Regarding the Gumtree Deposit scams.

Only deposit if you've been showed the respective house/vehicle/flat whatever, and you can always ask to speak to previous owners, I prefer speaking to previous owners at night at the prospective flat for various reason.

You can never bee too careful. rather be too careful than loose 2months worth of rent deposit on your laziness.

The company's name was/is Lonehill Car Company. The guy I dealt with is Dean Jones (I have a copy of his ID). Cops don't give 2 *****s. I've lawyered up but his lawyer hasn't given up much info so it ain't easy.
