Just wondering if anyone has any updated on the legality of wireless networks as it stands today. been looking around with google etc but most links are to this forum but all threads are out of date.

The way things are looking:-
Any commercial wireless will require an ECNS licence. That is something that currently has only been issued to Telkom, Neotel, Vodacom, MTN, CellC and WBS as far as I can recall. ICASA is considering issuing a handful of ECNS's to other people but there is likely to be a huge fight for the half a dozen that they want to give out.
These things are being played out in the ICASA offices as we speak - and there will probably be some news reports about this kind of thing in the next month. Keep your eyes on the homepage... I'm sure MyBroadband will run a story on it the moment anyone knows.
