Hey Everyone

So for years i recall lenovo products as being junk, but it seems they have come up quite substantially over the years without me noticing, rated 2nd for 2012 top 10 brands just under apple as 1, which technically makes them 1 for non mac

Whats everyone's opinions on the quality and durability of lenovo's notebooks?

In my opinion the Ideapads are great value for money, decent looks and specs for the price you pay. Don't have much experience with Thinkpad's but most have good reviews too.

Lenovo now owns most of the old IBM pc designs. This means that the now make the rock solid ThinkPad range.

I have one of their X-series notebooks. Has been throw around, used in dusty and wet places and is still going strong after over 2 years. We have also standardized on Lenovo at the office.

I really like them.

The entry level models like the G570 do tend to have few issues here and there but at price points between 3k and 3.5k, what else can you expect (problems I've noted, the trackpad will be glitchy, screen pixels being dead.)

However, going up the range to the Y570/Y580 and the U310 UB's, build quality is excellent and I haven't experienced problems with them.

Hope that helps

The Thinkpads are very well built but very expensive for the spec. I think the Dell Latitudes have surpassed them.

Im not really a fan of the entry level ones. Even the R10k y580 isn't spectacularly built at all.

Lenovo is becoming one of the main technology brand, not only in the PC's field, but also in the smart phone market. I didn't get any Lenovo's product yet, but I'm seriously thinking in buy one of them because they supply competitive features at very competitive prices.

Regards.

I recently bought two Lenovo laptops, including a Thinkpad.
And I must say I'm very pleased with them. Build quality is excellent, especially the Thinkpad.

Junk???? Where is that coming from? I have been a big fan of their since the beginning. Still have a Thinkpad (almost 10 years old) that's still working, daughter plays on it. They're just great.
My wife has the Ideapad S10 since 2009, I just borrowed it to her back then. She sold her 15" Acer to keep the 10" S10. I's running Windows 7 now, and still great.

Myself and many many students at university use Lenevo products and there has never been any major issues. Mine has been used and literally abused and its still going strong after 2 years. So I would definatly reccommended it.

My wife is using a G580 and it seems pretty rock solid, almost as good as my Dell and better then her old HP it replaced

As an enterprise workstation (i.e. for work and not gaming), it's pretty decent.

Very good notebooks with excellent battery life.

I don't like the chicklet keyboards they use on the cheaper models, so use my fav brand, Toshiba.

Sold 3 thinkpads recently and so far only 2 broke.

Still waiting for the 3rd one to pop

I have a W530 and it is builkt like a tank, love this machine. Had a Dell that fell apart after a year

Got a Y580, and it's not built as well as I'd like, but it does not feel flimsy in the slightest.

The thinkpads are built a whole lot better, but they're also more expensive. I love my Y580 to bits though, and use it for work and as a desktop replacement on most days. ( Got the FHD one )
