All of a sudden today some of the keys on the keyboard of my Lenovo Thinkpad T440 isn't working.

The keys are Backspace-Delete-Enter-Spacebar and the backslash key. I tried several solutions like rebooting;uninstalling keyboard driver;etc but the problem is still there.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I would suggest popping the keyboard out and checking if the connection ribbon didnt come loose a bit...happened to my sons laptop a while ago..had to play with it a bit to get it to connect properly.

Just replaced my sisters t440 keyboard a few days ago. Most of keys wouldn't work. Only one or 2 keys. Lenovo sent me a new one under warranty. Was easy to fit and everything thing is working fine now.

All of the other keys are working. It is only those few. Can a connection ribbon cause this?

Will check it out

Did they require anything? Did they send you the new keyboard? Think mine has warranty until 2017.

mine too
I logged a request via their online system, they then called me and ran through a few questions to see if it was a hardware problem etc
If you sound like you know what you talking about then its easier, ie explained to the guy that I did all updates/reloaded drivers/etc after the problem occurred. He then asked if I could do it myself or do I need a tech to come and do it? I said I can DIY, so I didnt have to wait for an opening. Arrived a few days later with a tech to do it, but I didnt have the laptop with me at work so I did it myself at home.

The replacement keyboard is slighlty different to the old one, the undersdie construction - hopefully its design revision which will fix this problem, if it is one.

Did you do it via the "Submit a Service Request" ?

So I registered a service request. Yesterday I received a local call from Lenovo. The person (sounded like a computer voice) asked me several questions. I was then advised that they can send me the new keyboard or send a technician to replace it. I told them they can send it and I will replace it. Then they said no they have to fix it and a technician will contact me to arrange a time. Since yesterday I have not received a call. Presume I will just have to be patient.

So Lenovo replaced the keyboard on my laptop. Did not have to take laptop in. They send a technician out to my property and it was replaced onsite. Must say I was impressed with their service.
