Lens won't open on P&S

So my wife has this little Samsung camera, i think its an S860. It takes some pretty decent pics, i paid about 1k for it a few years ago.

The lens doesnt open anymore, or it opens half and then u have to pull it out the rest of the way. I googled it and found some sites suggesting i try cleaning it, changing the batteries, blowing air into the lens mechanism etc. I tried all of this and its still sticky, infact i think i made it worse.

Can this be fixed or should i just toss it and but a replacement?

Toss it my way, I'll superglue the lens open and just keep it clean.

lol, hope it works for you but just keep the glue far away from any other moving parts, use a pin as an applicator methinks.
1 stray drop on the glass would also be catastrophic.
