I have been waiting since June 2005,for Paypal to support South Africa. We as South Africans are only allowed "send only" accounts. Meaning we can buy items over the internet with out credit card but we cannot receive any money. Meaning we cannot do business over the internet very easily. Off course we can still but damm does it take time, money and effort.
August 2006 I stumbled accross Alertpay
. Have a look on their site you will see they support us,South Africans very very well. Check their website at www.alertpay.com , The fees are very similar to Paypal. They support South African banks and you can deposit or withdraw funds from your alertpay account straight into your SA bank account. Fees a very reasonable and beats getting a cheque and paying R75 bucks to exchange that cheque.
In conclusion. I think paypal will NEVER support South Africa and we should al just move on and walk away. Its a pity but its just the way it is.
