Hi all

I have used iburst for almost 2 years and i think it time for it clients who pay in most cases more than R700.00 for what they call a broadband connection and all we get is smtp problems, low bandwidth speeds, technical support who tell you anthing just to try keep you as a client.Since iburst tv ads started apearing it has only made matters worse due to base station overloading.

Multiple ASA complaints.etc Guys what are we going to do to sort this problem out.

Try get more people onboard? More money = more investment in infrastructure right? :D ;)

domain names

We going to need a domain name to start with, something with iburst in the name for search engine top 10 rankings. Basicually we going to create a site where all iburst user can record their connection speeds ,Post the comments made by iburst support. When we have collected enough info we can go to the ASA and other bodies.

The goal of this site is to get Iburst to provided us with what we are paying for 1mb per second connection and fair pricing structure .If they can not provided this then the pricing structure must be adjusted. Most of you are not even getting 256kb per second connections.

Go to iburst's site and do a speed test , Hey its not working i wonder why.

hahhahaha ye right... more ppl onboard = less bw available = overloaded BS = slow access speeds = customer bitch and moan...

You know what really gets on my nerves, is that Ibusrt is supposed to be this Black Empowerment Company, whos, if i remember correctly, main objective was to supply cheap, accessible internet to areas that didnt have fast internet infrustructer.

Well, firstly, its not cheap, or for that matter very fast.

Secondly, is it me, or am i the only one who seems to think that when a company offers true broadband internet, it means thats its true broadband all of the time, not just until you have reached your cap?

Perhaps this could be an issue that could be raised with the Advertising Complaints Board?

Anyway, thats my gripe for today

Hellopeter.com?

What exactly do you want the ASA to do?

But you are not even running at broadband speeds

The speed most of us are running at before you are capped is not broadband, after you are capped most people can run faster on a 32kbps modem connection. The capped speed should not be slower than 56kbps

Remove iburst as a broadband supplier

Hellopeter.com?

What exactly do you want the ASA to do?

Prove that iburst does not supply the speeds needed to be classed as a broadband connection supplier.Force iburst to stop advertising 1mb connection speeds, this misleads the public.Goal is to get iburst to give us what we are paying for and nothing less than that.

Where have they advertised 1mb connection speeds? They say up to 1mb in all the ones I've seen. I realise, as an (somewhat) intelligent consumer, that that is probably best case scenario.

guys you suppose to start from the source... and that is? TELKOM and OUR VERY OWN GOVERNMENT! they the ones controlling the SAT 3 cabling and thus pricing of "broadband"

Whilst you raise a vaild point, I personally feel that these companies are hiding behind these facts. There have been drops in the price of ADSL, but not in the price of competing products such as iBurst.

Second to that, the abyssmal service and support that a large number of users are experiencing cannot be explained away by the high cost of bandwidth nor the inaction of the relevant watchdog and government.

iBurst should first and formost ensure that existing clients are catered for in all manner and form before launching a huge expansion drive which has resulted in a degraded service that affects old and new clients alike.

4 more months to wait... lets hope Neotel isn't all talk and no action

Ed, Please Note and Respond

I asked you What iBurst's strategies were last year while stating that you cannot keep existing clients with your current packages. you said that you cannot disclose future marketing and sales strategies.

The time is now - iBurst MUST do something to retain its current customer base whilst implementing the ambitious Capex program. Otherwise, as been stated by other forumites, you will be replacing old customers with new suckers!

To think I wanted to get IBurst in Feb.... ....well they just lost a client :(

Yeah I wouldn't get iBurst if I lived in CT. Durban is fine though :D

How can you make a statement like that since in general CT users get good speeds and stable connections.

There are some that have crappy connections in CT but they are in the minority.

Sorry, on a whole I've heard more bad stories about connectivity problems in Cape Town than anywhere else in the country. That could be seasonal though I guess.
