I am sure you can understand that in the world of online forums the environment is pretty dynamic. You just have to page back a couple of years through the logs of this forum to understand what I am talking about.

Not everything can be taken care of in a rules page. Nobody will be banned either for posting stuff that we ask shouldn't be posted (unless it is a repeat offender or a spammer), so the penalty will most assuredly not exceed the crime. I stuck this thread so folks can read it and see. When necessary I remind folks in threads. Nobody has ever been banned or had a clad name because of this. I simply ask this for the good of the forum. Nothing else. The worst that I will do is delete offending text where possible or delete a thread at worst. This is an understanding amongst all the mods and you will find this in any duties the mods perform on the forum. The forum comes first. The forum is what it is because of forumites. No use treating people like crap. This is a community. You have been here for a while and I urge you to start as many discussions about piracy as you want. Just don't point out specific pirated material or places where it can be found...

Understood, antowan - that is a sound policy and I support it fully.

This issue doesn't really bother me, actually - I don't own any consoles (I am solely a PC gamer) and I think putting Chinese chips into a console just to play pirated games is very silly!

If I were to post a link to the illegal prime, would that be edited out? After all, it is a numerical representation of a program that breaks the CSS encryption (on DVDs) and therefore enables ... PIRACY [gasp]

I also remember a (quite recent) thread by pupa (I think) about how to buy an illegal gun to shoot people with - better put up a sticky about attempted murder

ROFL! Just so you know, they (whoever they would be) will have to string the mods of this forum up by their toes, cut out our tongues and toast us alive before they would get your info from us. Even then they'd still need a court order to make us consider giving them anything remotely useful.

Point me to it pls. But just in case somebody doesn't know. Guns are not toys but also don't kill people. People kill people and thus guns in people's hands make it far too easy. The right to carry arms should be respected in my opinion even though personally I refuse to get one. I believe having one will put me in a frame of mind where it would be far too easy to opt to use it instead of thinking. That doesn't mean I think people with guns are thoughtless, I however might be and don't want to prove it.

Lets not be anal about guns. People should be free to scope it up, chrome it up and what not. Gun modding has been at the forefront of the gun development cycle for centuries and should be encouraged. Think of it this way. If you don't do it, somebody else will... Find cool ways of modding your gun. Turn it into a useful gas lighter, flip knife combo if you can. If you can build in a console gaming system you will have struck GOLD!
