Let's talk Cologne

So I visited the Fragrance Boutique at Centurion mall and bought their generic version of Mont Blanc Legend and for the wife, Rodriguez Narcisco.
Amazing stuff. We both love it. No different to the originals.

Azzaro Chrome Sport.....currently my favourite.
Armani Acqua di Gio is awesome, just too common

Aramis Havana
Purchased this. Its good but don't think it goes well with my natural body smell so to speak. Seems to clash with coffee smell as well (i.e. If you drink tons of coffee your sweat smells coffee-ish)

From a lady's perspective:

My husband doesn't really bother with cologne or have a preference, so I get to buy it for him. I get him EDPs of Gaultier "Le Male" or any Hugo Boss #6 from duty free for relatively cheap when I travel, and they last forever (I mean YEARS) without losing their profiles. I got him some type of Aramis years ago which we both did not like.

He also somehow keeps getting free bottles of Adidas colognes with things. I don't mind it either other.

Bought Bodyshop's Kistna. meh way too citrusy smell. Not much better than retail store stuff. OK for the price I guess but definitely not getting used for anything that matters

Bought Issey Miyake Intense for Men - hasn't arrived yet. Bit expensive for my liking so hope its good

I've been using CK Free and CK Free Blue for years and years, can't find anything better. One of my mates in the industry says there's an ingredient they can't pick up to make a generic. Getting damn expensive in recent years :/

Read some good things abt CK Free. Saw it on special recently. Takealot I think.

Givenchy Casual Chic is my new favourite....spicy.
2nd is Blue de Chanel.
3rd is azzaro Chrome Sport.

These may change over time tho.

Calvin Klein is good, I also have a Ferrari, The Antonio Banderas colognes from Edgar's is really nice you get two versions a black version and another. They priced nicely as well. I have a few others but I don't remember the names.

The best Cologne I have used is the cheapest of them all. They sell it at Edgar's, it's called Club Casino. Best Cologne that last the whole day.

Blue de Chanel is my favourite. BF uses Givenchy Gentlemen Only Intense, which smells awesome.

Any good aftershaves? I see most of the fragrances out there are EDT or EDP. Can one use a EDP or EDT on your face after shaving?
My favourite aftershave at the moment is good old cheapo Blue Stratos. It does the job. Slightly burns after applying but then soothes the skin and leaves a fresh feeling. Doesn't smell too shabby either. But the smell doesn't last like EDT or EDP.

Why would you use EDT or EDP as aftershave? :wtf:

I use Ermenegildo Zegna (Z Zegna for daytime, Intenso at night) and then sometimes Carolina Herrera Sport.

On the aftershave front, I use Antonio Puig Quorum - older ladies seem to like this one (don't ask).

It is advisable to avoid using alcohol based after shave balms. It flies in the face of years of tradition but apparently it's not good for your skin and not needed anymore since shaving is considerably more sanitary nowadays.

Mr. Cobbs in the waterfront has a selection of alcohol-free after shave balms, they smell great. I use an electric razor but I still go for the alcohol free scents since they don't evaporate as soon as they hit your skin. Even on a long day (Friday morning through to Saturday early hours for instance) my wife says she can still detect the scent on me.

Also enjoying Azzaro Chrome Sport currently...added to the rotation with Ted Lapidus Pour Homme.

Zegna have a store in Sandton City now...lucky thing since I'm having trouble replenishing my Z.
