I also need to add that any fragrance which contains "oud" is expensive. The projection and longevity of any Tom Ford product is really a cut above the rest. But yes, it is quite a pricey brand.

Ysl M7 Oud Absolu is very good and around R1700 a bottle, it's actually one of Tom Ford's creations when he was still at Ysl.

Ignore the reviews that claim it's a shadow of the original M7, I had a bottle of M7 from the the year it was released way back when, a bottle of the "reformulation" when they made the bottle see through and the lastest M7 Absolu and they are all virtually identical, the dry down is 100% the same. Still as strong as it was originally.

Where did you order it from does Rio have it?

How does Rio manage their low prices, often a good R800-R1000 off from Foschini etc?

They are 100% legit, I've ordered from them but still amazes me.

There is only 1 place ill order from. Rio perfumes. They had an 80ml in stock.
I am not sure how they keep their prices so low. Obviously all of their perfume is parallel imports so you already making a saving there. They also move ALOT of perfume on a daily basis. I have been at their shop where they had a container delivery. They had people packing the perfumes off the container over into what I assume is going out for delivery. Also, I've seen guys walking in there and buying R30k worth of perfumes at once.

I see these things every time I go there. I go there with my mere R5k and think I'm a baller. lol

And at R1499 I feel its a bargain. Ill let you know when it arrives next week. Quite exited about this.

There seems to be a new version of M7 (2018?) which does not have the words "Oud Absolu" written on the bottle and box. Apparently, it's much more diluted than the previous Oud Absolu versions.
 
Its nice, if you like classy oud it should be right up your alley. I like it from the cough syrup opening to the dry down which is when the oud starts to really shine.

Any opinions on this lacoste essential fragrance?
I'm looking for something that's still good and hopefully long lasting, but more affordable than the Mont blanc legend I'm coming from.

The reviews seem fairly good and the price is good.
Go to your local dept store and give it try or just man up and blind buy it
 
I use three colognes since I started working many years ago...

Emporio Armani - Stronger with you
TOM FORD - Black Orchid
VERSACE - EAU FRAICHE

These keep me going for all occasions, with Tom Ford even guys wanna sniff me which I always find creepy... But that cologne will get you laid

Very nice, above my price range though.
Based on your comment, if I was to chose 1 for more special occasions you'd recommend the Tom Ford?

Yes, it was initially marketed as a women's perfume (even though it never had a gender written on the bottle or box), but lots of men fell in love with it because of its powerful dark notes. Even Tom Ford now markets it as unisex, sometimes with male models.

I’ve had a bad experience buying from take a lot. Bought a few different brands and all of them didn’t last a hour. I’ve had store bought and know the smells which definitely had a difference. Totally put me off from take a lot and was a 3k wasted.

the only thing that did seem to smell correct and last was the cheapies I took as gifts for my guys. They had azzaro decibel going very cheap and I took 10. Gave some to my guys and after smelling decided to keep some for myself as everyday wear.

so parallel imports...is there a difference in smell compared to what you will find in the stores
