Nope, not superficial bs, what's your opinion on what's happening in Cologne, Germany?

http://www.news.com.au/world/europe...s/news-story/ff82e71448a5ebe6eb4c4bd58251ced6

They welcomed the influx of refugees, and now some of them are blaming this "outbreak" on them.

I personally think those who are claiming this are grabbing at straws and were against the refugee stuff (like that camera woman kicking and punching children)

You DO know there is another thread with an almost similar title right? Where men's fragrances are discussed.

The refugees are a problem, I live in Europe but thankfully my area does not take many.
Even so there are problems with them here.
They come with extreme entitlement, blatant disregard for locals and a very outdated culture.
The sexual harassment has not just been in Cologne and will likely get worse as more come in.
Unfortunately the majority of them have come for better tidings, not out of fear of where they live. They want European comforts but they want to stick to their same culture that destroyed their part of the world.

Municipalities here have even warned women to dress conservatively if going near refugee housing areas.......

Unfortunately most of the "refugees" who have come to Europe are the bad eggs and not those who truly need help.
It has given refugees a bad name and will continue to do so, Europe needs to man-up and send most of them back home.

I guess it does allow the criminal element to jump borders more easily, but isn't that the exception though? In South Africa we also have criminal elements come from Nigeria and Zimbabwe (because of no death penalty) but most I've met and seen are law-abiding hard working citizens.

Isn't the media maybe blowing this out of proportion?

I mean sure, in Africa we're used to this (and being on our guard, especially if you're female) whereas Europe has had the luxury of less crime and safer areas mostly. But a preventative "hey watch out please just in case" doesn't mean 90% of them are knife-wielding-skirt-catching-rapists?

As you pointed out, the few has spoiled it for the rest, and sure Europe should probably man up, but at what point and to what extent and at what cost? Are you going to help pay for processing/policing this? And what if they just start sending people (literally) to their death? Those who truly want to escape the horrors? Would you sleep better at night know "they" and "their old culture" has now died innocently at the hand of barbarians?

Nope. Totally oblivious and self-centered. No idea.

The media isn't really blowing it out or proportion. To Germany it is very serious. Remember we are talking about a place where many people happily walk the streets alone at night, young girls under 18 cycle home from friends houses alone after dark. The culture here is that you don't worry about your safety. Suddenly you cannot even walk alone in Cologne during the day. I visited Cologne a while back and honestly in the last year it has gone downhill quite fast. Compared to Joburg it is safe, but you must look at everything relative to what people know.

Unfortunately with the refugee crisis it is not the few spoiling it for the masses, it is the masses spoiling it for the few.
Most of the refugees are men between 25 and 45 who helped create the mess they are in. In the Netherlands we get the actual application statistics (in Dutch) and it shows that very few of the refugees are women or children.

In terms of paying for the processing I know that it is extremely cheap in relation to the cost of housing the refugees. Figures here should over €800 million per year for the Netherlands alone for refugee housing!

People also forget that by helping these people it hurts others even harder. The cost of looking after a refugee in Northern Europe is 10 times what it is in a camp in Syria for example. This means that €800m of the €2b aid budget of the Netherlands is being wasted terribly because we feel too guilty to be strong. Aid organisations are crying now because they cannot feed hungry children world wide because 30% of their budget is being eaten by mostly working age males (who now sexually harass women too).

In terms of the media I would actually say that the media protects the refugees more then it exaggerates the problems.
You can also look up sexual assaults on women in Sweden by refugees (it was covered up to avoid creating anti-refugee beliefs).
