Good Day,

I am having trouble with DSTV on my new TV.
Initially it worked fine, but now all of a sudden DSTV only comes in black and white.
I have a old DSTV decoder and I have connected it to the TV using AV Cables (I have made sure the cables are plugged in properly). I have used another decoder (same old type) and I have tried to switch AV cables but I get the same problem.
The TV works fine if the input is through USB or if I use Youtube etc.

Please help.

Not sure if I'm right, but it almost sounds as if the TV is displaying in NTSC colour mode. In SA we use the PAL colour mode while the US uses NTSC. Not sure if you can change the mode on your TV, but take a look in your settings under Display.

Ahoy,
This can be an issue with the analogue circuit board. As far as I know there are different boards for HDMI and analogue connections (or at least different parts of the board that handle it).
Get your invoice (model number, date of purchase, invoice number, serial number + contact info) and phone 0800545454 and book a service call. Once a technician has assessed the problem, you can then allow them to order spares or you can refuse repair and request credit for a new panel.

LG has a call-out warranty for all panels larger than a 32".

I'll check the TV settings and then call that number. Should I not just return the TV? It hasn't even been 30 days since I bought it from makro.

You can return the panel, but I am almost sure they will insist on booking a service call. Also Marko's returns department is normally horrible. By getting the supplier involved, you are forcing Makro's hand. If the supplier gives credit (which you can request by refusing service after assessment), you can get your money back or get a new panel or upgrade.

Thank you for your input. I'll do that. One last question, last night I hooked up my bluray player trough hdmi and that was running fine in color. When I switched that off and went back to dstv it had also started working fine (in color). So it's fine now. Just hoping it's not a problem which will reoccur.
