LG 55LF650 Television - Help

Good Day,

I bought the LG 55LF650 television over the weekend from Makro.

Works perfectly well when I play bluray discs or videos through my external harddrive.

However, when I watch DSTV on it (I have the old DSTV decoder - the small box), the video seems unnatural. In some instances it seems to be moving too fast.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a TV or DSTV decoder issue?

Well... when you say too fast, do you mean that it has a ghosting effect?

Switch off Motion Plus or whatever LG calls it.

Its almost as if its out of sync - the voice and the video. For example if the tv is showing a person walking, at some point it feels like he's walking too fast. As if you were watching the video at 1.2x the speed or something.

Apologies for the multiple threads. Was not sure if I was posting it in the right place. Works perfectly fine if I play something on bluray or through a harddrive

That motion blur setting will try to smooth it out.
As for the decoder... Are you using co-ax cables? I don't think that that decoder has HDMI.

Yes I am using the normal AV cables. No HDMI.

I plug the video AV ones into the TV and plug the audio one into my bluray player to connect it to the speakers.

That right there is your problem. Get a better Decoder... better yet, scrap the P.O.S. and download ShowMax or use Netflix.

I was worried that it is something wrong with the TV.

Nope, you have crappy cables.

Video is just one cable while audio is two.

PS, why not connect the decoder to the tv via the Ariel?

I'm not sure about how the Ariel one works? And yes I've put the one video one into the tv and the two audio ones into my bluray player for the surround sound/speakers.

Should I now just try changing the decoder cables?

Connect the coax cable to the RF out port then the other end the to Arial port on the tv, then you just tune the tv to find dstv.
