I skipped the whole DVD recorder stage - so I figured I'd ask here for advice.

My mom just gave me one to get rid of, so I planned on doing my normal R1.00 auction to see where it goes. We don't really care if it fetches nothing, as it hasn't been used for as long as I remember.

I can't test the recording section of the unit - but popped in a DVD and CD which worked great. Then I checked reviews online and EVERY review is horrible.

They seem like the worst piece of electronics ever to have made it to market!

Did anyone own one of them?
Was it as bad as made out?
Should I rather dump it?

I didn't have that model but my LG DVD recorder lasted about 14 months before it stopped recording and 18 months before it stopped reading 90% of DVDs. It will get dumped when I decide to clean out the spare room

Yea - that's what just about every review says as well.

Some people seemed to have 2 or 3 months before issues.

I also have one with EPROM problems. How miuch would you accept for your machine? R1. Was a nice machine while it lasted.
