kewl, thanks... was hoping to get it for closer to 3400... but i suppose if thats the best here.... considering it goes for $349 (R2500) in the US...

I found this at one of my suppliers:

LG 226WTQ , wide screen , 22" , ez-zooming by button ; 0.28mm , 1680x1050 (WSXGA+) ; brightness - 300cd/m2 ; DFC contrast ratio - 3000:1 , response time - 2ms ( GTG ) - d-sub + DVi with HDCP compliance , black

It doesnt have the -BF part to the name though.

Price would be R3450. Dont know stock level though...

neither did mine, must be sybratic's own addition

For a R1000 less there are other 22" LCDs like the:

MAG 22" WIDE LCD 1680x1050 @ 60Hz - 5ms With DVI (Black)

or for R100 less:

SAMSUNG 22" Wide LCD/TFT,2 ms response time, 0.282mm 1680 x 1054 280 cd/m²,Analog RGB,DVI Digital Link: TMDS, 15 pin D-Sub DVI-D,19.9"(W) x 16.1"(H) x 8.7"(D) (w/stand)

But i guess you researched what you want pretty well huh?

Thanks for all the replies.. I have been looking at all sorts of forums on the net (mainly intl ones) and the 2 best 22" screens at the mo are the samsung and the LG...

The reason why i am put off by the samsung is the whole S panel etc issue. Most of the performance tests that i could see rated the 2 screens pretty evenly and it came down to personal preference... I have not seen the LG in store anwhere in SA yet, and i would like to see it in person and in action first before i make the choice.. I think the LG also has better ratio than the samsung, (or some small diff like that)

The reason i am not too keen on the 20" is that most of the forums also say that 20" aint really worth it compared to the 22", and 22" will become the standard in years to come..

If you guys have any other inputs, pls feel free to comment..

Supersunbird, could u prehaps find out if they have stick?? I am in CT...

kewl! where did u get it from?? the supplier i was planning to get it from is out of stock and will only get it in aug.... PLS tell me!! :)..

Short for high-bandwidth digital-content protection, a specification developed by Intel for protecting digital entertainment content that uses the DVI interface. HDCP encrypts the transmission of digital content between the video source, or transmitter -- such as a computer, DVD player or set-top box -- and the digital display, or receiver -- such as a monitor, television or projector. HDCP is not designed to prevent copying or recording of digital content but to protect the integrity of content as it is being transmitted.

Implementation of HDCP requires a license obtainable from the Digital Content Protection, LLC, which then issues a set of unique secret device keys to all authorized devices. During authentication, the receiver will only accept content once it demonstrates knowledge of the keys. Furthermore, to prevent eavesdropping and stealing of the data, the transmitter and receiver will generate a shared secret value that is consistently checked throughout the transmission. Once authentication is established, the transmitter encrypts the data and sends it to the receiver for decryption

thats what i found on webopedia.com, so i suppose thats a yes?

Some ATI cards said they were HDCP compliant but they were only in a sort of semi (wouldn't work) kind of way, that what I was really asking...
