I have a LG G2. This morning my phone fell now my screen is cracked and i cannot access my phone cause i cannot pattern unlock it. The half of the touch screen doesn't work.

I got quotes of R2700 to R3000 to replace the screen. I cannot afford that.

Does anyone know how much a screen cost if purchase it myself? Or if this can be done cheaper?

This is a really good phone. But just too expensive to fix.

Also, is there any of getting pass the lock screen to access the phone. the only thing i can do at the moment is answer calls, thats it.

Any advise will be appreciated.

The exact same thing happened to me this week. Cracked my screen and touch input doesn't work anymore.
Got quoted R2700.

Decided to rather get a screen replacement from fixez.com, $109 ex. shipping. The replacement procedure is pretty straightforward, there are even instructions on the site and numerous youtube tutorials.
Only downside is it might take a few weeks to get here. Still waiting for it.

If you get an OTG cable that converts to normal USB, you can plug a USB mouse in and unlock the phone and use it that way. Else a USB keyboard, but you won't be able to unlock a swipe pattern with a keyboard.

Thanks Pastry. I watched a few youtube vids and it doesn't look too difficult. I would do it myself if i can find the screen at a decent price.

Where can i buy a OTG cable?

Try one of the chinatown gadget shops? Else there must be a shop in a mall nearby you that sells cellphone accessories.

If you're in Cape Town region I know for sure Gadget Time in Canal Walk has them.

By the way, once you get to using the phone with a mouse/keyboard, you can use the built-in LG On-Screen phone app, if you pair it with the desktop application. http://www.lg.com/uk/support-mobile/lg-D802 (OSP)

Then you can just remotely control the phone from your pc.

I bought a usb adapter. So I will try it. Basically the phones usb cable will be in the one end and the mouse in the other. I hope it will work.

Will the mouse cursor appear on screen when connected?

Yep. The cursor will just appear.

Some adapters don't transfer data, just power.
If you've got the right one you'll be able to use controllers/mouses/keyboards/usb sticks.

Thanks so much Pastry for your advise. I bought the correct OTG cable and it worked. I can at least use my phone again until i have the bucks to fix the screen.

Much appreciated.

Same thing happened to me and I'm not willing to pay R3000 for a screen replacement...I'd rather buy a secondhand s4 or something. Can you tell me if you've received that replacement screen from the site you linked and how easy the installation was?
