I'm about a few more hours away from chucking this phone in the fire, although I don't think the issue is with the phone.

I've recently moved, and set up a Tenda powerline network at home to extend the wifi to the downstairs area. It works perfectly, except my phone (LG G3) keeps on disconnecting after a few minutes, goes to mobile data connection, and then reconnects to the wifi. It also drops the wifi connection and connects to mobile network when the screen is off for a while.

Yes, I made sure that the setting is unchecked (Wifi off while screen is off). My girlfriend's Sony Xperia works perfectly. At work, my phone works perfectly. Any ideas?

Lucky you still pick up wifi, mine doesnt pick it up at all, it just says turning on, i had a bootloop issue on marshmellow so i downgraded back to lollipop. This stopped the bootloop but not the wifi issue.
if i go into safe mode, it will pick up wifi for about 30 seconds then the phone will switch off.
i am tired of this, can add it to your fire lol.

Haha you're welcome.

I'm going to check if there's a firmware update for the wifi AP tonight. I have also changed the encryption settings, made no difference. Strange that the Sony is working perfectly :(

That being said, I'm not missing any notifications or messages, it's just stupid and annoying.

Mine does something different, The Wifi stays connected, it says its connected but there is no internet. You can switch the wifi off and on all you want, the only resolution is restarting the phone. Then the Wifi works 100% again for a few hours.

Also the phone randomly restarts when I put on the GPS. Very frustrating when you are drunk and trying to organize a Uber.

Interesting, my Z3 Compact has the exact same wifi issue. Don't remember Safe Mode doing much better, but going to try it again now.

Hi Guys,

Also a LG G3 owner but I am not having such issues with my wifi either at work or home. I am not going to go through the phone settings as I am assuming you guys have tried and tested every possible angle.

2 solutions on top of my head that might help are :

1 ) Try by accessing your internet gateway router, and setting a static IP address for your LG G3. I am running Android Marshmallow 6.0 on my LG

2) Unfortunately a factory reset will not help you solve the issue if its a software issue. But reflashing your G3 with a newer version of Marshmallow might help.

If you need further help on how to flash your G3 with the proper suited firmware just let me know and I will you give you a guide on how to do it.

The strange thing is, is that it's only happening at home with the Tenda P201 HomePlug AP. Everything else works fine. The Sony Xperia, on the other hand, doesn't have problems anywhere. :(
