Hi There,

I would just like to know if anybody has experienced a slightly yellow tint, as well as issues with battery life on some LG G3s. Compared to my friends G3 (as shown above), my screen is slightly yellow - and my battery life is incredibly limited. He has used his phone on full brightness for 1hr30m, whilst I have used mine on 70% brightness for 35m, and we both have the same battery percentage left.

That surely cannot be correct? Only difference is that I am on MTN, and he is on Vodacom. Would lack of signal sometimes during the day make that much of a difference?

Other than that, app syncing etc is the same.

Thanks
Z

No yellow tint, good battery life. I'm on Vodacom, but that should not make a difference unless maybe if you have poor reception.

Check thing like GPS, WiFi, BT, etc, they use a lot of power.

You can also swap batteries and check the impact.

Posted in wrong section - obviously delete request for other post never went through :/

Looking at the button at the bottom, seems he is on a different OS than you. Have you checked for system updates?

Which model are you refering to: the 5.5inch G3 or the G3 mini/beat/s with a 5inch screen?

BTW, if anyone wants a free G3 Beats rear protective cover, let me know, I ordered the wrong one by mistake.

Unless those are custom OS, those are G3 phones. My G3 S is still stuck on kitkat.

Hey jono, i am considering the G3 s but not sure what 1gb of ram is like on android. Is the phone ever slow, freeze and can it run games with decent graphics i.e asphalt etc.

My other option is the Huawei G7: snapdragon 410,2gb ram, 5.5inch screen
I am not sure what to buy but i know that LG is considered reliable. What colour is your G3s and do you have any cons regarding the device.

Thanx

Just looking at the screenshot, I can see that you are on 3G with very weak signal, and he is on WiFi with much better signal. Having signal as low as what you have in the screenshot will definitely effect your battery live very negatively as the phone is constantly searching for signal.

I have seen low signal make a massive difference to battery life, so if the signal status as your picture is sustained and not just a coincidence, then I would say that is why you are noticing such a difference in battery life. And you being on 3G with that low signal will make even more of a difference.

Just my 2c.

Aah alright.

I should have guessed. It's a pity MTN doesn't have better signal in my area.

Thanks though

Everything is off, except I do keep location on (so does he though). I really think it is signal issues to be honest - which is rather annoying.

Check battery usage stats, it should say cell signal or something like that when it can't find signal.

Mine is the "gold" color, basically looks like silver/metal.
One gigabyte of RAM is more than enough for me, I have not tried asphalt yet, but have had no issues running any of the android games I have downloaded on my phone (CoD, Dead Trigger, etc).
I've only had 2 or 3 issues of freeze and that is due to the app itself, the phone never froze. (Was debugging the apps on my phone, busy writing apps for it).
I have routed my phone though, your experience will be different if you are running one from Vodacom. They put so much bloatware on it, you have to root and delete.
The LG G3 S is good for its price point, the end choice is up to you.
The battery life is also very good, 2 days with medium use (about 7 hours on screen time and maybe 15 hours of music playback for me). Can stretch it to 3 days if I only use WiFi.
