Trying to figure out which to get. The LF20 is way cheaper, so I'm pretty keen on it. What do you guys think? Anyone have these?

LG 42LF20 - contrast ratio is 30 000:1 is that bad? no 100 hz trumotion either.

LG 42LD550

LG 42LH70/scarlet

What's the difference between the last 2? They're both 100hz

Don't pay too much attention to advertised contrast ratios, there is no standard of measuring it and so its a pretty meaningless number really....

The LF20 is LG's bottom of the range 2009 model, hence why its so cheap. Rather have a look at the LD460 as it is a brand new 2010 model, and pretty reasonably priced.

The LH70 is also a 2009 model, while the LD550 is a 2010 model, so thats the difference there, they probably pretty similar, but rather grab a 2010 model ;)

If your budget extends to a LD550 I would go for that! If you watch a lot of sports then the 100hz will be awesome for you.

Hope this helps, anything else just ask away :)

Thanks Ono'rach :)

Does the LF20 have a usb input for video?

How much is the LD460/where can I find it? The LH70 is 12999 and the LD550 is 11999. The LF20 is only 7600 - are the others really worth the extra 4400-5400?

The LF20 does have USB input, but not sure what video formats it supports though...

That is a good price for the LF20! And even though it is a "bottom of the range" (to quote myself, lol) TV, its still very good.

Cats digital has the LD460 for R8999 http://www.catsdigital.co.za/lcd-led-television/lcd-tv/lg-lcd-tv/ld460-series.html but they are generally a bit negotiable if you push them :p

So its R1300 odd more for the LD460, which in my opinion is really worth it! Slightly better response time (great for games and movies) and better contrast ratio (ignore the grossly exaggerated numbers, just know that its better :p ) and its a later model.

Its really hard too say if they are worth the extra money! The 100hz is really good for normal TV viewing and sports, but generally better turned off for movies and games. What will the TV mostly be used for? The D550 does have an even higher contrast ratio, faster response time, more HDMI inputs... Its a hard call...

If you have a budget, don't blow it too much if you don't think you can. Have a look at the LG website and compare a few models. See if you can find any online reviews as well.

Haha, its really hard trying to decide! :o

Went to makro to checkout the LF20. They didn't have any in stock so they substituted it for the LD420 for the same price!! -sold-

Absolutely loving it!!!!! :)
