LG Lightscribe making funny noise

ANy of you guys experience a fairly loud whine on their LG lightscribe dvd writer when it starts to read a dvd disc (data)?

Mine is only 2 months old and it was silent at first but now is making a noise.

Works ok but is beginning to irritate me.

hmm.. mines 2 days old.. no noises yet.. but how do u use the lightscribe?
 
has anyone been to acer lately, it seems that they selling gold
 
i have a lg lightscribe dvd writer, its not making any funny noises....:)

to use lightscribe you must install the nero from the cd supplied with the dvd writer, it will have an option in extras saying print lightscribe label....

i had the full nero package but i couldnt get lightscribe working with it(it doesnt show up in extras) so i had to use the nero from the cd, which does not have many of the features that the full package has...
 
so u just stick the disk in .. do a burn... the click the lightscribe.. do that... then it all pops out the drive nicely?
 
you have to buy a lightscribe disk that allows printing first of all, then you have to turn the disk upside down and put it in, and then press print lightscribe label.....(this is what ive heard, never tried it):p
 
New firmware out for LG Lightscribe DVD Writer

Hey

Just thought I'd let you know that LG has put out new firmware for most of their new writer. Check out their downloads section on www.lge.com.

Fixes a lot of problems with reading dvd discs.

Funny how? Does it act like a clown, trying to amuse you? What the fukc do you mean funny...?

I alluded to a "fairly loud whine".

If you don't know the definition of a whine, I humbly suggest you pick up a dictionary and look it up.

I had a similar problem - this is how I fixed it on my pc (no sniggering please) use the screws that came with the unit and use all of them!
the other thing you may want to check is if the front bezel is clipped in securely as this also vibrates its way loose.

cool, will try this. I installed a fan in front, so maybe something went wrong that I did not notice.
