LG Optimus 3d(P920)

Hi everyone,

I was wondering who else has this device in South Africa. I love the device and I know the fight between customers and LG have been going around for almost a year now regarding the Ice Cream Sandwich update, etc, but there is an alternate.

Would love to meet someone with the device and see how they have used the amazing 3d camera and features.

I've had the device, which my wife now uses.

Not a bad device, just wish they would update it now, been waaaaay too long.

Funny thing is that I am running a custom rom with Ice Cream Sandwich on it and with all the features still working. Running like a charm and even more quick. The gingerbread firmware is outdated and the latest by LG, but there are alot of programmers that are have worked hard to bring ICS to the device, and by the looks of it, Jellybean will be here soon. Send me a PM and will send you links on how to get it to ICS. Does void warranty but worth it(I sent my device in after having a custom rom(gingerbread based), and Vodacom still repaired it for me). Feels like a new phone after ICS.

Howzit man, I installed a custom ROM on it about a week after I got it... didn't bother any further since then.

Which ROM are you running?

Lately, ICS was ported to the device by xbsall. First release was very slow and not nice to use. Recently(In the last 2 months), he has released a new version based on ICS and it is amazingly quick. Runs faster then any Gingerbread based roms. So far no major bugs and the device is fully functional. Currently running: XBSA ICS V7.2. Considering updating to V8.

PM me for a link to the new rom(not sure the rules about posting external links). Process to flash is very different to the one for Gingerbread.
