LG unveils premium IPS monitors

oooh, I like!! Those ips monitors are amazing for colour reproduction. I wonder how much this will set us back?

Windows 8 meh... but will endure it for the screen I will.

EDIT: A tad more practical than this Samsung ... that LG tho has much yummier colours.

Its very cool, but for the potential of that aspect ratio to be properly realised it would need a vertical resolution of atleast 1440 and an overall size of about 32 inches. Without that i think it could feel quite cramped, which kills the dream of it being a borderless dual monitor replacement. 1080 vertical pixels is just way too low res once you have used a 2560 x 1440 27 incher.

With that being said, i'm so glad screen tech is moving forward again. Within 3 years i predict the new enthusiast monitor will go from 27"(2560x1440) to 32"(4K).

Also glad IPS monitors are becoming more mainstream.
 
Sitting so close to a screen that big? You would be lucky not getting a brain splitting headache every day.

....Sheesh I think my 23" 1920x1080 will do the job just fine.
