LibreOffice 5.0 launched

I will try it but can't just get used to it and I end up installing wine in Linux to use MS Office.

I'm the same. I believe in the software and the concepts, but when it comes to professional collaboration I always revert.

I keep trying every new version of both Libre and OpenOffice and inevitably cave in and go back to MS Office :o
Ditto

My issue is clients religiously chanting the M$ mantra. Somewhere along the line, somebody will send me something that breaks my productivity setup. Then it's a case of getting the paying job done vs messing about with my infrastructure. By the time there is a workaround/fix in place, Oom Billy's minions have done something... erm, brought out a feature ... to make sure there is a new surprise. But will definitely ever hopefully try again.

The best thing that could ever have happened was the LibreOffice team liberating a product from proprietary clutches.

Says a ***x fanatic ;)

Libre Office always manages to look like the hobo of office suites when it comes to UI. Wonder if they've improved that. WPS Office is actually a lot better looking.

I have downloaded it and as fat as i'm concerned it's brilliant and can match MS office anyday,
I did try to join the LO forum but can't get past the Captcha and I've tried a dozens times, anyone
else struggling or know how to overcome it

Cheers Snowy

Still looks like MS Office 2007.
