Hello peeps

Just a heads-up they are trapping again on Christiaan De Wet in Roodepoort.

The trap is located just after the Sasol garage after Clearwater Mall.

They are attempting to hide behind a rather large piece of old cardboard so if you see the cardboard resting against a tree, know that they are trapping!

Said p.o.s. used his private vehicle, a gold coloured Camry which is parked further down the road.

Well this brings up the topic of if you don't speed you don't have to worry, right?

Well this is yet another example of a road where the speed limit was lowered to make money and nothing else.

Agreed ... hate it when people say 'just don't speed' :/

Sometimes your car rolls down the hill faster than 60km/h (ie Hans Schoeman, Randburg)

I had that happen to me in Pretoria on a nice downhill... 80 speed limit. I coasted (never touched the petrol once), reached 91.2... and got pulled over by a speedcop (along with a million other guys who didn't expect them to be filming there)...

well, said area is a downhill and they always trap on the downhill

Anyhow the cardboard is still sitting there today, but no LICE, when I went past there at 7:30AM

If you where not speeding you would not have been pulled over!! :P

Please tell me you don't stay in Centurion? As I know of this little dip/downhill where they like doing this... you come cruising down not accelerating... usually you get to between 90 - 110 km/h there... then they sit about 300m away trapping the people just after or before the dip which they pull over then.

I know there people can drive on my as.s, but I will not go faster than 90 km/h...

I usually don't do that either, but clever me on that occasion didn't take a better lookie at my speedo.
I don't stay in Centurion, no. This was on Hans Strijdom/ Garsfontein.

I dont think thats the point. They are not allowed to hide behind things or camo the camera.

Is it justified for them to break the law, in order to catch somebody else breaking the law?

I dont know if this is true, but I remember someone once mentioning that cops arent aloud to trap on a down hill or something, any lawyers that can confirm or deny this ?
