Does anyone know how to stop licence fees from piling up, my car is going to take 6 months to be repaired but no one can seem to tell me how i can stop the license fees from piling up ? I'm not using the car and can't afford to pay the current amount that is in arrears at the moment and it just keeps getting more by the month, please does anyone know what can be done ?

For 6 months? you renew a car license once a year, how can there be a pile up if you are going to be off the road for 6 months?

Because he's already in arrears. So every month he delays paying the fees due increase.

@OP. There's no option but to pay up now. Don't even think of de-registering it unless you want to deal with the paperwork later. Anyways you'd still need to pay arrears. Just not the next years licence.

Jissis...if you cannot afford a tiny, once a year license fee, you definitely cannot afford a car and shouldn't own one.

Lemme guess, you also drive without any insurance....

You mean R50 more by the month? How are you paying the mechanic?

What car is it?
Where is it?
What needs doing to it to get it roadworthy?
How much is owed (settlement figure)

I suppose you're looking for an answer other than "paying it as soon as possible"? Because any other option would just involve more costs (legal and maybe otherwise).

Guess this was another BS post

Last suggestion: Leave it at a train station with the window well ajar and put the key on the seat. If still there in a hour, place sign - For Sale R50 000, phone 0856789012
