Licence validation

Hi guys,
Does anybody know how the banks validate driver's licence.

Just heard from a guy who apparently has a fake drivers licence that he manged to get finance from a bank...

They don't

But seriously, don't ever even think about it. It's fraud, you will go to jail for it. One thing driving with a fake license but the open an account with one is something completely different

Was just shocked to hear that a bank wants a drivers licence but does not validate it...

I think they do the same with ID documents. They assume it to be correct as it's the departments responsibility to make sure there is no fake ID's or licenses. Wrong I know, but who knows.

I doubt they do in South Africa. Most 'fake' licenses actually exist on the system, so if the bank did actually check, it would come up legit.
