www.getlicense.co.za is a free online vehicle license renewal assistant. You fill in your details (once only) online. For rest of your life on earth, you will receive your fully filled in form 30 days before your vehicle license disc expires.

But NOW - you can also add your Drivers License expiry date. And the system will email you a reminder to renew your Driver's License 30 days before expiry.

Check it out: www.getlicense.co.za

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/getlicense.co.za/?view_public_for=272801610041872

Feedback always welcome.

:)

Thanks Ronnie :)
Can not do your driver's license renewal. We just sent you a reminder email 30 days before it expires. Just so that you do not land in a situation where you forget to renew it. Courtesy email as a reminder.

Whats the catch?

Hi @Jasop - like @ronnie_94 mentioned. Zero catch. Same as Whatsapp.

I build this platform out of my own frustration and pain and fines I had to pay.

In the end, I realized it could help many others out there. So nothing wrong with giving back. Please, I challenge you to try it. You have my promise here on a public forum. If I ever ask for your credit card or banking details for this service - you can sue me. It is here on a public forum for all to see.

The worst thing that may happen is - I may just get more excited and add more Free features and functionality. Like just now I added the Driver's License Reminder bit.

Many companies are using it now. @ronnie_94, MuchMore Projects, Duratec Batteries, GMT Foods, RepresentPro, Wampum, Epic Wireless etc. That is just a few of them.

Not to mention the many private users.

And this is the catch :) I love the fact that a hobby project intended to solve my tiny issue - in the end, could assist many other people. Rewarding Enough.

No HTTPS!

They can **** right off!

Thanks for pointing that out.
It is sorted now.

Please confirm.
SSL was installed and it was working 100% on my side but was not forced so realized now I had to force https.

Hopefully @Marius0188 can fix this for us.

Thanks for having trust and believe in my little project.
Really means a lot!

Real Gentleman!

@ronnie_94 - I am going to give you and your company some credit here. You are actually the first company that joined. And you spend many emails to help me fine tune it for business use. I actually never intend to gear it for company renewals but only for private entities. And now many companies have joined :) Owe you a few beers!

I will continue making incremental improvements based on the valuable and constructive feedback I constantly get from all of you peeps here. Thanks to you All :)

Thanks for the response. I'll register and look forward to not having to fill in the forms at the post office at next renewal.

So you get all those juicy details.
ID numbers, Vinn numbers, detailed stats about addresses, and telephone numbers, a full profile of a business or vehicle owner.

And all I get back is a email once a year? Joh, buy them a drink first.

And when your site gets "hacked", make sure you've got a backup of all that data, in csv format.

Hi @John_Phoenix,

Thanks for your comment and I appreciate your concern.

May I say - you run the risk of being hacked by just having an internet connection. Many reports of Facebook, Google+, Banks, Government Departments being hacked. A google search may assist you - just search.

Let's hope me and you are not part of the half of SA's population whose personal (very very personal) info were hacked:

I understand if you do not wish to use my free online vehicle license assistant.
And I respect that.

For those who do find value in using the platform, I am really grateful.

Just to clarify this. This platform I developed out of my own pain and frustration. Never anticipated for it to even been deployed on the public domain. Friends actually ask to join. And that was really the great motivator to make a serious effort to build something good, valuable and to invest more time in this project.

As part of improving security even further, I actually implemented Google Captcha on login page today. Just another layer of security.

If you have any more great suggestions please feel free to share them. I am always willing to listen, learn and improve.

Have a good night.

@John_Phoenix I would also like to add. Whichever process you follow. You going to hand your paperwork to some lady at a counter that you do not know from a bar of soap.

How safe you think your juicy info is with this stranger? A quick snapshot with cam and she forward it to her "gang".

So not to avoid the discussion. But at least, on a public forum, I am putting my name and integrity on the spell and try my utmost best to secure all my user's information.

Hacking is real. As long as you realize that the weakest link is at the end of this chain. Remember that lady at the counter who will process your paperwork for you.

I just want to get this off my chest :) I can not warranty anybody that my website or any other website out there is hacking proof. Not even Facebook can.

All in love in peace and let's #giveback. That is what I am trying to do and will continue to do.

And please as said earlier. I am always ready and willing to listen to suggestions on how to improve. Security, New Features or any Ideas. I am really liking my hobby project.
